




Mehrab-Khani bought the properties 157-161 Bathurst Street on August 2007. This property had Hobart Council approval for a four townhouse development as well as renovations to two existing houses. The same week he took possession of the property, he started "trimming" a heritage protected walnut tree on the property with a chainsaw, lopping off large branches.
Photographing him had the effect of causing Mehrab-Khani to stop the lopping. Photo's were sent to Council but nothing was further heard.
On the 6th April 2010 a backhoe and Komatsu caterpillar worked around the base of the tree, again without a protection perimeter contrary to Planning permit issued in Feb 2006:
